CREATING A SYSTEM OF CARE IN ADDICTION TREATMENT - There are two systems of care in addiction treatment; one is designed for those who have financial resources and the other is for everyone else.  Doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, and other professionals are placed in a system of care designed for a path to long-term, sustainable, recovery. Patients with poor social determinants of health (SDOH) factors are given access to a limited system of care that does not provide for sustainable recovery.
