VJJA's Membership Year runs from July 1 to June 30.

Lifetime membership to the Virginia Juvenile Justice Association is awarded to recipients who have made extensive contribution to the Association. Contribution being defined as a long-term, active (paid) member dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the association, supporting and abiding by the mission and values at the state level, as well as the local district level. Nominations may be made by any current member to the Board of VJJA. Nominations shall include the subject’s name, description of contribution, and justification of the nomination. The board will verify the subject’s membership status and consider nominations for vote during a closed session of the voting board members. Votes are made in closed session so recipients' names will be sealed until the Board is prepared to present the awarded membership at the annual Fall Institute or other venue as approved by the Board. Recipients will receive a certificate honoring their Life Membership.
