Greg Fissell began his juvenile justice career as an intern at the Norfolk Court Service Unit in 1971. He was subsequently hired as a P.O. in Norfolk, but returned to his “homeland” of Arlington, VA in November, 1976. Greg has extensive knowledge of the programs and services in Arlington, and goes the extra mile to serve his clients.  Frequently, former clients return to visit and thank Greg for his help during their juvenile years. Greg also goes out of his way to assist and offer guidance to new staff.

A member of the Arlington CSU’s leadership and mediation teams, Greg was also recognized this year for assisting with a rewrite the Unit’s Policy and Procedures manuals related to probation violations and graduated sanctions.

While Mr. Fissell may be eligible to retire, working allows him to support his weekend addition: GOLF. Each year, Greg and his agency director represent the Arlington CSU in the annual golf tournament sponsored by the neighboring Fairfax County CSU.

Greg has two kids, Greg, Jr. and Melissa, and three grandchildren with a fourth on the way. VJJA is proud to present its 2004 Meritorious Service Award for Court Services to Greg Fissell.
